Jane Rubel:  

Life Biography In school I was Jane Marie Caulkins, I married for the first time in June of 1980, to a Naval Officer Lcdr. Carl Rubel, from Pensacola, Florida. We lived in the San Diego area until the fall of 1983. He decided to retire after 21 years of service. We moved to Paso Robles at that time, as he always loved our small town atmosphere. Unfortunately before we could really settle in and enjoy our life here, he was killed in a plane crash in 1984, at the young age of 39. I chose to remain here in Paso raising our children. My stepdaughter Shari, blessed me with two grandchildren Cassondra and Zacharieh, before her untimely death from a Asthma attack in 1991. She was only 24 years old. My son Carl graduated from PRHS, Class of 2003. He has attended Cuesta College for a couple of semesters while working at Albertsons and later decided to enlist in the United States Navy. He completed Basic Training at Great Lakes, Illinois in March of 2006. Then he was stationed at Goose Creek, South Carolina for his A School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. He is now finished with all his schooling and did a tour of duty on the USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76. He is now on shore duty stationed in Memphis, TN. (Nuke Detailer)... While stationed in Memphis he was selected for Chief, my daughter Kathleen and I went in September of 2012 to pin his anchors on him. How exciting for us. Needless to say we are so very proud of him. My daughter Kathleen is a PRHS graduate, class of 1999, She attended one semester in Irvine at Concordia University, but returned to Paso Robles to complete all her Gen. Ed from Cuesta College. She chose to also take a year off to study Ballet in New York. She auditioned for and was excepted into the Trainee Program Level 5 for the Joffery Ballet for the summer intensive, as well as the winter trainee program of 2002- 2003.
