Janelle's Story

I graduated from the U of U in Film Studies not Creative Writing... I still write, but am in grad school now in Film and Media Arts where I make films and docs duh. I have eight kids between myself and my husband. I haven't paid for this deal, classmates.com...so I doubt anyone will read this anyway. I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. So I was a singer, as most of you know, all through jr. high, high school and most of my adult life. Got out of Seattle as soon as possible and went on the road with a band. My family and friends thought that was not a swingin idea. As it turns out, they were right. So I learned to produce. I owned my own audio production house for 25 years in Salt Lake with my second ex husband. We produced, composed, recorded, and played in bands. If I'm going to have to work somewhere, I need to have creative freedom, creative coworkers, and a creative boss to be able to deal with the day-to-day. What I really need is a grant writer and the opportunity to travel, making my own docs. I love Trent Harris. Check out his crazy action on Flingading.com. He taught me a screenwriting course one summer, and I now own most of his movies because he's so forgetful. My hero is my husband Armando Vigil. He is a retired Lt. Col from the Army, and the most wonderful man in the world. He inspires me constantly, is a political scientist and an historian. He is presently working on a book about geo-political issues far above my head. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Ammie Felder, because I love her.. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Brenda Matter, because I love her!. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Danny Walsh, because he was too hot.. I need to see Jay Morrison because he was my hero. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is everybody from all my schools, because I loved them all.. My obsession is traveling in the desert with shrooms. My second husband was my biggest surprise. And I would rather not discuss it. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the entire thing and add on a personal study. My dream home would be in the mountains.. I've learned to shut up and to have boundaries at the same time. The teacher from HS I'd like...Expand for more
to see most was in Salt Lake City and she died shortly after graduation. I am already truly happy except for the fact that I feel like I'm going to throw up because I have the flu. My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be hell if I remember. I was so completely clueless. Working hard to get my latest film into the festival circuit. As for first loves, I started early. I was only seven! I don't even remember his last name. Then there was Mark Grubbs. That was age 12 and he turned me ON! Then there was Dan Walsh, and then I left Seattle never to return. My best friends would tell you I'm scattered, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as wacky. Although I'm merely bi-polar, but I take meds and NEVER forget. I do not dress like I did forty years ago, thank you. But I've been known to say f-in' A!!! My weirdest job was playing country music in a rock n roll band. Second weirdest--trying to work in the hierarchal system of a Truck Stop. No kidding. I share my home with my family, which I find is mostly gone now. I framed my husband's Order of St. George medal, (he's a Knight, no kidding!) and all his other medals, and his Masters Degree. He frames all my scholarships and degrees as well. If we were rich, we'd frame money. If I could've done anything different in my life, at eighteen, I would've moved to California immediately and gone to AFI. I hope my friends remember me as a kind person with a sense of humor. I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a daffy idea. As it turns out, they were right. I shoulda gone to Hollywood and been a writer. From Olympus, I can't even begin to recount all the crazy stuff from one year. There was Unkle Nutzy, and Kerry Jensen, and Kim Marti, and my drama friends like Tom Green, and Jed and Jim Comas from art... The baddest things I did in HS always involved Ellen Mortensen and Tammy Tuft and Kate Bullen and Paul Rasmussen. Bad influences, all of them. These things involved smoking cigars with Paul and reading dirty books... bad marijuana and beer, also, and some shenanigans required caviar and tuxes as well. I have several heroes. Most of my professors! Leigh von der Esch, and Ernest Shackleton for another.
