Janet's Story
My husband, Gene, ( a retired Navy Gunner's Mate/Master-At-Arms and former Law Enforcement Officer) passed away in Cedar Rapids, IA Sept 15, 2010. I moved to MO to be closer to my daughter and her family, who were about 30 miles away. I don't get around much even though I'm only 25 miles from Branson, MO. Arthritis has limited many of my former activities. So much to do here but no one to do it with me. I'm a voracious reader, computer researcher and love doing genealogy. It's like putting a puzzle together. In Nov2021 I moved to Huntington. LI, NY to live with my older brother Paul Ackermaan (1960 grad of Scranton Central)
I'm a truly conservative person and think we should all write in "none of the above" on our ballots in Nov. and start over, looking for people who truly want a great America, not the "political expediency of policies to please others around the world." U. S. sovereignty should be first, to keep it the great nation it is.
I'm vehemently against illegal aliens. They should go home and come back in with legal papers and a sponsor who is willing to assist them should they need it. If they have medical bills their sponsor is responsible should they ...Expand for more
not be able to pay, not me the taxpayer. Then go home when they expire or apply to become a citizen. Learn English. No benefits, no welfare, no schooling, no lawyers, and NO AMNESTY!
I don't have any pets because of allergies, but wish I could have at least a cat or dog for company. Stuffed ones will have to do. I don't garden any more since we lost our house in the 1993 floods in IA.
My brothers John Tech class 64 passed away last year. He lived in Gouldsboro area. Jim, class of 62, passed away last month in CT. Paul Jr, Central class of 60 and Jo Ann class of 59 are doing well also. If you'd like to get in touch with them let me know by my email below.
I'm now involved with a prepper group trying to teach others how to get prepared for emergencies. Living in tornado alley it is necessary to be prepared. I'm part of our local CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) group through Greene County MO Office of Emergency Management. I'm also a HAM operator and a member of ARES. I urge everyone to take CERT classes locally.
