Janet's Story
Life
Went to Yohi 1966-1969. What a culture shock. However, coming back to the States was much harder than going over-seas. I returned to Killeen High School my senior year. Thought it would be easy as I had gone most of my school years in Killeen. Not as easy as I thought it would be. I moved to Dallas 2 weeks after graduation.
Made a connection with Bill Sims c/o 68 about 9 years ago. We both were at a difficult time in our lives, and Bill helped pull off the mega 2000 Las Vegas reunion and we have been together ever since. Bill spent 20 years in the AF...and I worked in and around the Dallas area before we got together. We now live in NE TX and are care takers to my 83 yr old dad and his 81 yr old mom who has dementia...not a dull momen...Expand for more
t to say the least. Between us we have 3 daughters 6 grandaughters and 2 grandsons.
Our time in Japan was awesome....and very impressionable for us both. An ironic note that we laugh about is that I signed his yearbook way back in 1967 with Love, Janet. Go Figure!!
Our lives are very busy but, we do enjoy being with classmates and of course our families are very important to us. We enjoy reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family and just chilling out.
I went to Killeen in Dec 08 to meet a cousin for the first time. We had a great visit. While there I went by my old homes....elementary, middle and high school. Such memories. It was conforting to know my way around and I was able to find all the places that I wanted to.
