Janet's Story
Well Hello there,
Where does one begin? I moved so much as a child, I'm not going to even try to remember all the schools I went to until we settled in Charlotte my junior year. From there onto Princeton for BA (with a short detour as Miss NC), NCSU for MEd and UGA for my EdD. Between concentrating on career and having my heart broken in grad school, I didn't get married until I was 36. It was worth it; Bill was a wonderful, kind, handsome man. We were married for over 16 years when he unexpectedly died in 2004. place on the beach (Topsail- near Wilmington) in 1990 and spent most of our free time there away from campus, away from ATF. As long as God sees fit to save it from the storms I will spend as many days there as I can.
Since stepping down as dean in 2005, I have moved to the farm I inherited from my grandfather near Gastonia. I lease the crop and pastureland out so I have time to pursue the more fun stuff in life. I have spent most of my time writing, playing tennis, walking miles and miles of beach and looking up old friends.
I must admit I do miss the university setting but it is time to put all that behind and start the second half of my life.
