Life After graduating high school, I attended Rutgers University and worked in the Hotel/Bartending/Banquet Sales arenas for many years to support college, etc. I lived in more apartments and worked more different types of jobs than I can count! I changed careers in the early 90's and worked in advertising at Verizon in NYC, (which was called NY Telephone, then Bell Atlantic) for 13 years. During most of that time, I resided in Brooklyn, NY with my significant other (Bob) and his 2 wonderful children for 10 years, but 9/11 changed everything for so many people, including myself, and we split up and I opted for no more commuting and rat race. Additionally, being an only child, I had the hardship of having to work FT while nursing my mom at our home through 1996 - both of my parents passed away within 6 months of each other in 1995-1996. I could NEVER have gotten thru this without the support of Bob, a couple of close friends - including Janet (Nealon-Brewer) Vigeland and my 4 cousins -- who also sadly lost their parents within 2 weeks of each other in the summer of 2000. In 2003 I relocated back in NJ (Point Pleasant Beach) to a house I built in 1997. I lived across the street from the beach and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! ;) During the last few years, I have had the great fortune of re-uniting with a few close friends from RP and I am so glad for that! Lois McGregor, Jude (McMahon) Egan, Irene Polack, Diane San Juan, Jodi (McCourt) Lepera, Debbie Rizzo (McNulty) and Debby Francovich to name a few. Lois' family has somewhat adopted me! I have been trying to get some of my own businesses off the ground since 2002, with the hopes of not ever having to report back to a 9-5 office job again, but I'm not quite there. So, in addition to my businesses below, in the summer of 2007 I returned to Verizon's Engineering Department in North Brunswick as a contractor and I sold my house and downsized big-time. I now live in a little 2 bedroom cottage on the water in Bayville. (Exit 77 on the Pkwy - LOL!) Finally, I never had a doggy and always wanted one, so in 2006 I got myself a rescue dog who looks just like Lady, from Lady and The Tramp. I went out to get a big chocolate Lab and came home with a cocker spaniel -- go figure! She's named Remy - her coloring is cognac, (so I'm guessing her previous owners were thinking Remy Martin?) She's the love of my life and is (big surprize!) SOOO spoiled... I'd love to hear from anyone who has taken the time to read this and want's to share their story!
