UPDATED: I've had some interesting things happen over the years, some wonderful and exciting and some not so great, but character building.. For nearly 15 yrs., I had a fairly demanding job that I enjoyed most of the time and it ended in July, 2001. Since that time my life has been very different in many ways, some of them actually good. In my 'spare' time I have been a Community Manager for Thrive, Sexuality Chats on AOL, co-hosted a weekly 'Cop Chat', taught new members how to use AOL, design webpages and am delighting in being a grandmother. The grandkiddos are now 10, 6, & 5 (gotta remember to keep updating this)and even more challenging then they were before, but such a delight. nearly 6 years now and actually enjoy most of it. Seems that my career life has been centered around government entities and on the fringes of law enforcement..I've worked for the City of Houston, Harris County and now the State...maybe my next career move will be with the Feds.. hahah
Actually, I'm giving a great deal of thought to retiring in a year or so and doing something different. Maybe a little traveling (to visit the grandkids) and some freelance decorating. I've been doing some serious remodeling to my townhome, possibly to sell it when I retire and move closer to my children. But who knows, as I get older I find myself doing less long term planning and making more spontaneous decisions about things. So we'll see what happens when I finally make the move to turn in those retirement papers.
