Janet's Story
Life
My husband, Gary, and I recently moved back to the St. Louis area, after a 15 year hiatus. We have two children-Melanie and David, a yellow Labrador named Holly, and a black and white cat named Thumbkin.
Our daughter graduated from the University of MO, Columbia with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Melanie is married and living with her husband and daughter in St. Charles County. Our son graduated from Webster University with a major in Communications/Film. After living and working near Denver for several years, he recently moved to, and loves, Portland, Oregon.
During the first three years of our marriage, we lived in Elsberry, Missouri, then lived in St. Louis County for 15 years. However, since then we have moved to and lived in several places: Hilo, Hawaii; Blue Springs, Missouri; Riverton, Wyoming; Lake St....Expand for more
Louis, Missouri; LeeÂs Summit, Missouri and now O'Fallon, Missouri. Hopefully, this is our last move. When we are not moving, we like to travel and go to the movies.
For several years, I was a stay-at-home Mom, volunteering for PTA, Girl Scouts and church. Then, I went back to school and finished my BS in Elementary Education at UMSL. After teaching for a short time, I worked for Challenger Center for Space Science Education. Since returning to the St. Louis area, I work part time and watch our new granddaughter.
My husband works at Pfizer and enjoys hunting and being a hockey referee.
We are very happy to be back in the St. Louis area after a long absence. You really don't appreciate how great we have it here until you leave. The best part is being close to our daughter and her family and being a new grandma.
