Life
Hi all! Thanks for stopping by. I'm living and working in LA and have been since 1996. Love it here -- the biggest bonus is getting away from Montreal's frosty winters. I have an 8 year old daughter, and am a single mom. For the past twenty years, I led a corporate life and have recently made a major change. Left the corporate world and started a dog service business (Pooch Buddies)-- which means no more sitting behind a desk (although I am doing some business consulting...so a bit behind a desk...), spending lots of time with 4-legged gentle creatures, and enjoying the great outdoors.
My sister Shelley moved to LA in 1992 and my other sister, Susan (one of the twins) moved here in April 2004. Laura, the other twin, lives in Vancouver, BC. My mom moved here when my daughter was born in 2000. And my dad still lives in TMR. You'll have seen him walking around with his Great Dane.

r "Janet Wendy" and I'll come up in top 5 or 10.
Another bit of exciting news is that my mom, Corinne Copnick, has released her new book "Cryo Kid: Drawing a New Map" -- a thoughtful and funny view of the transformational family in the face of assisted reproduction. If you know someone who went through DI or In Vitro, they'll love the book. It's available on Amazon or Barnes and Noble and you can also request it from most major bookstores. And, yes, it follows my story and that of my child, and the change of family dynamic that was precipitated by following that route.
I remember TMR High with great fondness. I made some great friendships there. Moving away, first to Toronto and now to LA, really ended all my connections, but we were a great group of kids and it was formative in a most positive way.
I also adored going to McGill. I was very involved in extracurricular activities, especially Theatre, and that had an enormous impact on my direction in life. Prior to the career I now pursue in proprietary education, I worked in theatre and film for about ten years.
Love to hear from you, especially if you are living near the West Coast. Feel free to reach me at jspiegel98 at gmail dot com.
Ciao for now.
