Janet's Story
School
I can't really say that I remember enjoying school so very, very much. I remember liking many of my teachers and disliking extremely a couple of them because of the way they bullied other students. I started school in a one room school with 6 grades in Colpitt's Settlement, then when it closed I started Salisbury Elementary School in grade 5. In high school I pretty much goofed out, barely making it through graduation. I now know the reasons why but wish I had then. I only hope others remember me better than I remember myself. I haven't turned out too bad I guess. I have 3 children, have lived in France and now am living in Sweden. I do not miss Canada but miss what I wished I had done with my life in Canada, but hej, today is a new day! Would love to meet new friends and old friends through this classmates.com.
College
Not sure if it was called NB. Comm...Expand for more
unity College or NB Technical School at that time. Anyway, I am surprised at how well I did. I made many new friends and actually worked with one later on at the NB Dept of Health. I wish I could make contact with others. The course I took was Stenography. I worked for 24 using my secretarial talents but since then have tried many other vocations out of need instead of want because of changing countries and having to learn a new language.
Workplace
It seems I have worked at so many places, but moving has created that. I have gone from being a typist, to a secretary, to owning a campground, to cleaning, to a plant caretaker, to my current a patient caretaker at a nursing home in Sweden. I really miss working in an office environment but because my written swedish is not really up to that standard I cannot find a job at this. Is it time to return to Canada??????
