Janet Martin:  

Life Well to begin with,I am no longer Janet Wagner,I am Janet Martin and have been Married for almost 26 years.I have had three children,my oldest would have been 30 yrs old this past Feb.20th,He passed away in Oct.1995,after recieving a Bone Marrow Transplant for a rare form of Leukemia,"Chronic Mylogenous Leukemia"it is found mainly in Adults 35 & older,he was only 16,he was a very healthy,energetic kid,we found out just by accident he even had Cancer the end of Nov.1994,he went on the Bone Marrow Donors list in March 1995 & they found a match only two short months later,he had his B.M.T.July 10th,1995,he Grafted well,was released to the Ronald McDonald House,were we would have lived for sometime,one week after he was released,he was admitted again,with"Graft Verses Host Disease"his body was at war with itself!!! He went through seizures,pnemonia,and blood transfusions,too many to even count,he fought so hard even when the Doctors had given up,HE NEVER DID!!!!! His body could not take anymore and early the morning of Oct.7th,1995,after we had a bunch of laughs,picture sharing,& remembering fun times the night before,he kept telling me,"MOM,GO TO BED,YOU KNOW HOW YOU ARE WHEN YOU DON'T GET YOUR SLEEP"I believe in my heart,he did NOT want me to see him die!!! he always looked out for me,he had one last seizure & he was gone,I thank God everyday I was there for his first breath,& for his last!!! I told him how proud I am of him,he was my"HERO"& that I loved him so much!!! I miss my son VERY MUCH!!! This was the second loss of a child I faced,I had a son in Jan.1983,he was born Premature & lived only for one month & one day,I said then I could never go through that again,but,I did,& this time after almost 17 yrs.of watching them grow,& growing right along side of them,I still can't believe I did!!! He was my"BEST FRIEND" I had one other reason to go on,my youngest son,he will be 22 this Sept.30th,he just Graduated from"Yuba City High School"with a 4.0 G.P.A.he has collage ...Expand for more
