Janice's Story
Life
Hi I am Janice! I(we) have been out of school for almost 35 yrs. Alot has happened to each of us in that time. Some good and some not so good! I have been divorced since 1974 and have not remarried. For the last 6 yrs. I have been my mothers caregiver. She has dementia. She doesn't know who I am. But, my faith in God and support from my friends and family keep me going. My firstborn niece has passed away 1-1/2 yrs. ago and also my sister in Dec. 2004. I miss them, but, I know they are with the Lord, and that is a great comfort.
For my age I am overweight 25-30 lbs. But, I do go to the YMCA and work out. Not as much as I like to. It is hard to get there because of taking care of mom.( She goes to adult day activities center 4 days a week and ...Expand for more
I just asked for more help to get her going. ) I keep busy though with volunteer work. I am currently volunteering at the Canal Basin Park and started at the library at Longer elementary. I would like to be a teachers aide someday. I better get started or I'll be no longer interested, not really. I love to see kids learning. That's why I like the library thing. I like to see them reading. I like to read myself. I like to scrapbook with creative memories. I have no kids and I am on disability for coronary heart disease. I am stable or I couldn't do the things I do. Oh, it is summer, so I am outside trying to make changes at my place. Can't think of anything else to tell you.
