Janice's Story
Life
My husband, You knew him as Irvin Thomas, We got married after he came home from Korea, We married January 21, 1978 and have been together ever since. Red as he goes by now spent 20 years in the Army, retired as a Master Gunner he planned, and built gun ranges for tanks and troops to use, and while stationed at Ft. Irwin California trained the people who went to Desert Storm. We were lucky enough to live in Germany twice for a total of 6 1/2 years, and were able to go to Berlin before the "Wall" came down, It was a very surreal experience. We also traveled to Holland it is a beautiful country and the Dutch people are very kind. Now he is very active in preserving our second amendment rights. He has also been busy working with the National Guard in qualifing with their weapons, and has also worked with youngmen who want to join the military, by doing this they can join already promoted.
My Pet is a German Shepherd named Jäger. (Hun...Expand for more
ter in German) he is 3 years old and a great deal of fun to us, so much so that he has his own Myspace account (JagerGSD) where we have the videos of him. He is also Red's service dog. We are getting a female German Shepherd in a couple of weeks her name is Lili.
My Kids
My oldest daughter Rebecca is 29, served in the Army she met her husband in Italy where she was stationed, near Florence, He is an MP with the Army. They have 1 daughter Ashleigh who is 3.
My middle child Ivy is 26, and married to a wonderful young man was an M.P. in the Army, he was actually in the same unit as our other son in law he just got out of the Army in January.
My third child Zachary is 25 he is 6'8" He is trained as a Firefighter, but decided to join the Army as a Cavalry Scout. He is currantly in Iraq, recently married to a wonderful girl who has 2 sons Cody and Hunter they are 6 and 3 yrs old. So now we are lucky to have 3 grandchildren to spoil!!
