Janice's Story
My first bike, my first horse, these were my most memorable gifts.
My first job was at Kresses Dime Store, where I got paid pennies an hr to ?. What I remember most about it is a female co-worker whose last name was Christmas!.
Mildred Bradford Welch has been my longest and dearest friend. We met in 4th grade at Tans Bay School and I was new there. She took me under her wing. Polyana Smith was one of our "sidekicks."
In 10 years, I hope to be still working at my profession as a psychiatric social worker. I'm going to get there by continuing to stay healthy and happy.
I hope old friends remember me;, and that their memories be with fondness and love.
If I had one thing to do over it would be that my marriage of 27 yrs would be saved.
Going back to college at 48 yoa & completing my BA in Psycology & an MA in Social Work while going to school full time and working full time was my biggest accomplishment.
I share my home with a miniature schnauzer, which I find challenging.
The weirdest job I ever had was working the PM shift on an adult psychiatric unit. It is true that on a full moon the natives get restless and the babies start coming.
I hope my first crush is still alive and well.

ve been healed and am hoping to go back to work PT/FT in my chosen profession as a psychiatric social worker.
My current age is 68. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely deluded.
In the last few months I have learned to be happy in the moment, because ultimately, that is the only thing that is certain.
I lived in a dorm at Anderson Junior College. It was unlike anything I had experienced up to that time. It was a blast. However, it was in the day of curfews and "pantie raids." Remember, it was 1959. I was Phi Beta Kappa. The campus life was sedate, mannerly and Southern Baptist.
I am in VA & adjusting to the Northen Southern state. It is not as friendly as SC. When I walk my dog, people seem surprised when I say Hi, How are you? But once they are engaged they become very friendly. However, I miss SC & all of my family & friends there.
I drive a 1995 Camaro Conv and it is classy. White with a black top. It is taking me to SC soon for a visit.
I have learned that the only thing constant in life is change. I am constantly surprised how many people do not want to step up & be counted for something, anything!
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
