After I graduated from Northeast H.S., and after enjoying my short summer vacation, I went in the Army where I was held captive for the next 22 years! I'd always dreamed of traveling...just not cramped in a cattle truck with 50 other females. I enlisted as a personnel management specialist. I know...it sounds like my span of control was universal, but I handled promotions, reclassification and reassignments for the Army.
