Janice's Story
In HS I played the piano, and volleyball at the Boy's Clubs, was a camp counselor there, belonged to the Actogons,(girl's volleyball club), wrote the lyrics to our HS graduation song, sang in A cappella and Girls Choir and walked to school down Marshall Blvd. My sister Lynne attended Harrison but graduated from New Trier, Wilmette, in 1958.
I am working part time at home office of late doing marital & individual treatment. Until recently I was Dir. of social work at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Psychiatry, now I am still connected as JHU pt-time faculty. I'm married, have 2 collies, continue with piano, recently took jazz piano lessons and a jazz history following my parole from full time work.
I am very interested in politics. This year I've been involved with Teaparty efforts in Annapolis, town hall meetings in MD., and I can be found at the Washington DC TeaParty Sept. 12 2009. Revived an interest in Economics and took a couple of courses in the last 2 yrs at a local university;I hope I can take a few more soon. I just took up Bridge with friends and we have a teacher, and we're all enjoying a new challenge. I sailed for several years on my 21' MacGregor, "Msadventure" on the Chesapeake Bay.
I work at pilates on the machine- from-hell (reformer) and mat classes a few days a week. I drive a Volvo, Jack's Corvette (when he lets me) and ride motorcycles. I've ha...Expand for more
d several Italian bikes (Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Cagiva) that were knock-outs. Had some great motorcycle vacations and love to travel overseas AND particularly in the USA by auto or bike to see all the fabulous sights and experience the range of geographic and cultural communities available in this great country.
I have lived in Chicago, Wilmette, Champaign-Urbana, IL., Point Judith, RI, Philadelphia, PA, Buffalo, NY, Wichita, KS, Columbus MS, Baltimore, MD, Towson, MD. We moved to complete our educations and because my husband's academic career demanded it.
My two collies, Sunny & Monty, love to chase deer and anything else that runs. I have had a myriad of collies over the years, all wonderful dogs. My latest dog book find is "Merle's Door." I watch a lot of political news on Fox TV and listen to talk-radio, love movies and Netflix, and read the Washington Times and the Wall St Jnl if I can purloin it.
My best friend would tell you that I'm an introvert but people who don't know me well would describe me as friendly and funny. Most would be totally surprised that I am a motorcyclist and loved riding.
I hope my friends, colleagues and classmates remember me as kind, interesting and fun. Instead, they'll probably say I was opinionated, bossy and stubborn.
I am very interested in what happened to all my classmates in elementary & HS, in Chicago....
