Janice's Story
I lived in DG until I went to college. I lived in Chambana until I finished grad school and until my ex finished vet school. I lived in Wadsworth, IL until I got divorced in 2004 after 30 years of marriage! Then the real adventure of life began. This time to the desert of NM! I've traveled in 42 sovereign countries and all 50 states and still have no idea why I ended up in the desert! Just know that it is the most amazing place I have ever called home! I OWN an adorable house in a gated community on a golf course! Come out to visit sometime!
My kids aren't in IL anymore either. My daughter went to University of Miami and then did global warming research all over the globe. Finally went to veterinary school in St. Kitts, did her clinical year at Oregon St, then her rotational internship in Boston, a year lon...Expand for more
g surgical internship in CO and also in CA, and is now practicing in the CO mountains. My son went to CU-Boulder and is teaching HS math in Steamboat Springs, CO! Absolutely no reason for me to stay in IL since I have always disliked cold gloomy winters! Winters in NM are to die for! A bad day in winter here??? I walk out of my house and say as I look at my mountain, "It snowed on the Sandias last night", put the top down on my Z3 and take off!
I sub teach a lot! Last year I had fun doing the long term sub assignments in 7th grade life science and this year 9th grade geometry/algebra . I get to use my MS in Microbiology without the commitment of anything full time! Divorcing well means you never have to work full time again! Haha!
