Janice's Story

Life After graduating in 1964 from WWCE (WWU) in Bellingham I moved to Prince George's County, MD to teach fourth grade at Bradbury Heights Elem. School. I taught fourth grade until the music teacher was drafted in '68 and I became the music teacher for grades 1-6. I met my husband-to-be at the USO in Wash. D.C. and we were married in Seattle on Aug. 7, 1965 by my father in the backyard of the house on 64th Ave. So. We have no children, but have enjoyed 17 years with a poodle terrier and our present 'child' - a 15 year old cocker-mix. I...Expand for more
n 1974 we moved to Tacoma,WA, bought a house, and taught school in the Clover Park SD, Lakewood, WA. Traveling by various modes of transportation has filled many summers. We've made many cross-country trips by car and plane, and have taken several cruises. Rafting down the Colorado River was an unique experience. Highlights have been visits with sponsored children in Indonesia, India, and Thailand. Current hobbies include photography; square and round dancing; jigsaw puzzles, and some gardening. Each weekend I am organist at two churches.

First snowfall of winter arrived last night - kids rolled snowballs before going to school. By noon - slush and mess - water and ice on the roads.
Probably required more than one youngster to roll this one.
