this July 2003. My Job I work at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center. Very large name for a 123 bed hospital. I am a food service worker, or trayline person. I prepare all the patients trays for breakfast and lunch meals. Sometimes I also work a double shift and do the evening meal too. I make all the desserts, salads, all special supplements,if tube feeding I prepare the formulas etc. We are a very small kitchen and we have sometimes 7 ladies at one time practically falling over each other to get the work done. After food is prepared I then set up the trays and assemble them to be delivered to the units.I never realized how many different diets and combinations of foods some people could and could not eat depending on what the ailment is. I have been at my job 8 years now and wouldn't change a thing. It really is enjoyable knowing I have a small hand in helping people get well and out of the hospital by being sure they are eating the proper foods.
