Janice worked at Beaverton City Library in OR for 20 years, retired to spend time in E. Tennessee, and has since relocated to North Carolina to work at the High Point Public Library. She has been married to Richard Garfield since 1975, and is now known to all but blood relatives and complete strangers as "Jan," having discovered her long-standing dislike of her given name is due to that nasty hissing sound at its end.
