Janine's Story
Life
Currently live in Niagara Falls. Working at Seneca Niagara Casino. Have 3 kids of my own, 3 step-children. 2nd marriage, June 2001. Right now my life is mostly about work and kids. Don't see too many people I was friends with in school. My kids were born in 1988, 1991, and 1994. Step-kids were born in 1992, 1993, and 1995.
School
School was okay I guess. Met my friends in Junior High and High School, don't stay in touch as much as I would like to.
The worst part of school, besides that I hated Gym,I was very shy and quiet. Maybe some people took that the wrong way. I was the type of person that got picked on quite a bit all the way from K - 12. That definitely did NOT help me to open up and make friends.
I can't exactly pick one favorite teacher, there were quite a few that either inspired me, made me laugh, or just plain treated me well. I think my favorite teacher in elementary school was my 6th grade teacher Mrs. Hurtibise. In Junior high it would definitely be Mr. Payton - band/instrumental music. High school is the toughest one to say. I think that if i really have to chose it would be Mr. Kerswell. I had him for homeroom, and music theory my senior year. ll around and made me feel good about myself. If I could do high school all over again, I would have taken LPN training more seriously, then I wouldn't have failed Clinical the summer of 1985. My life would probably be a lot different if I had finished.
Workplace
After graduation I didn't do much but babysitting. I was pregnant at the time. After I had the baby, whom I gave up for adoption, I started working at a couple of grocery stores. That was kinda boring for me. I started working at Pizza Hut and stayed there for about 5 years. I had 2 more kids in the process. (never did learn from my previous mistakes). I had a hard time getting child care, so I quit and stayed home for a few years. Got married and divorced between 1991 - 1999. I had another child while I was a stay at home mom. When they were all school age I did a few months as a Sub. in school cafeteria. Then I went back to food service for a year. In 2000 I went for CNA training and did that for 6 years. Got burned out getting yelled at by the last bi*** I worked for. I got fired by that woman in 3/06 and was off work until I started working at Seneca Niagara Casino in food service again. I hope to stay at this for a long time.
