Janis's Story
After high school, I attended wayne State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in education.
I had been happily married for 36 years until I tragically lost my in May 2012. My husband was an antiques dealer and auctioneer and loved what he did. He was a wonderful man and the love of my life.
I have three grown children; a son, 40 and two daughters, 37 and 35, along with two sons-in-law, a beautiful granddaughter, 12 years old, and a rambunctious grandson almost 10 years old. Unfortunately for me, they all live in Chicago. Can't blame them for moving out of Michigan. At least I have a great place to visit and I go there at least once a month. Though people ask me all the time, I am not planning to move there....Expand for more
Through the years, I have had various jobs and was a stay at home mom for 11 years.
I had been working full time for over seven years at Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Team Leader (supervisor) in a customer service center. It was challenging dealing with many personalities and issues on a daily basis, but I loved it. Due to restructuring and downsizing, my position was eliminated in October 2008. After 13 months of unemployment, I finally landed a new job at Tech Team Global in Southfield as a call center Team Leader; but lost that job in December 2011. I am currently working part time at Chase Bank as an Associate Banker and love it.
