Jann's Story
Life
After graduation I worked for Pacific NW Bell as a drafting clerk. I met my soon to be husband, Dennis, walking on Broadway in Portland and it was love at first sight. (Really!) We married in Nov of 1970 at my house on Cornell Rd. We traveled to Texas to finish off his service time just home from Viet Nam.
We have had a great and happy life with the assorted bumps in our paths, and managed to raise a wonderful son, Aaron. He is 19 in April and loves college life at U of O, taking journalism and history. He has adapted so well that it is hard to get him to come home! Next year comes the shared off campus house with friends......ugh!?
We live in the beautiful country outside of Portland and love it. Dennis is in high tech sales and relocation and I have a small business thru my home for commercial space planning and architectural/interior design. I worked for Neil Kelly before Aaron was born. I also make custom quilts and do mosaics on table tops. Usually on weekends, Dennis and I love to garden. We have raised beds and lots of flowers and trees.

This is the final year for my son at U of O. He graduates in June with honors and has maintained his high GPA. He's not sure where he will land but hopefully it's close to home. Writing for magazines will allow him do most of his work from his home base, so he can work on the next great American novel...he and his girlfriend will have to decide what they will do this summer since she has one year to finish. So, it's either home for awhile or stay in Eugene and find work.
Hubby and I are spending a lot of time in south Seaside having bought a house in 2006. We spend what weekends we can down there so we can paint and do work on the deck and interior. Not much had to be done except to change colors and r...Expand for more
efresh things. We have done some of the landscaping but have a bit to do...very small yard compared to our house in the country...the acreage and beach house keep us running! And I can say it is either keeping us young or killing us early....
Looking forward to a good summer and hope you all have a wonderful year.
April 2013
We are still in Warren and enjoying the beach house although not as much as we are busier than ever with work the past few yrs. We still have our moving and relocation business in the Portland area. Our son Aaron is now 27 and living with his girlfriend by Sunset High and they have a 4 month old Aussie puppy. I telll them this is the pre-baby baby! They are thinking about buying a house soon so planning is afoot.
It is so hard to believe this much time has gone by in our lives and that we are thinking about retirement as our parents once did at this age. I once said that I would refuse to grow old! Life has a way of keeping you on your toes!
Have a great summer and send a note if you wish, I would love to say hi!
2016 brings plans for our son's wedding in October. Megan his fiancé and her folks have fit in seamlessly with our lives and loves. We couldn't have found a better daughter to add to our family. Dennis is doing the traveling for our business, NY and Florida coming up. I hate to fly so I happily concede to him! I am a coward when it comes to planes!
We still live in the country outside Portland. Continue to love our space and peace. Whenever I have to travel to bigger cities I cringe and can't wait to hurry home. I've always been a small town girl!
Thinking of those who've we've lost and those I haven't seen for so many years. I always hope for the best for my old friends and may the sun shine on your lives more often than not.
