Jannet's Story

Life After spending most of my childhood/teenage years in Belleville, Mi. my mother and father separated in 1978 just after finishing Jr.High School. We moved to Dearborn, MI where I started high school at Fordson. Because of frustrations of leaving Belleville, I quit school and and gave up on my dreams to be a teacher, get married and travel around the world. I started partying and not caring. At the age of 18 my mother passed away My way of dealing with it was to leave Michigan and start over somewhere else. I moved to Dallas, TX only to find myself more involved with drugs and becoming a drug dealer and a part time bouncer in a bar! My life seemed like so much fun, but in reality I was lost and searching for my purpose in this life. After a 5 1/2 year failed relationship I tried to commit suicide. It was at that time that I had met a lady in a laundry mat two doors away from the bar I was working at. She began witnessing to me and inviting me to a Bible study. Being raised as a Moslem I didn't believe her. She would just keep mraying for me. Month's would go by she would just kept saying, "I'm praying for you." I was angy, bitter, frustrated, and lost still trying to find my purpose in this life. She seemed to have such peace in her life! Finally after trying for the second time to take my own life by running through a window, I actually found myself at a payphone calling information to get her number! I ended up going with her to that Bible study that she had been asking me to go to for months. At that Bible Study I realized that what she had been saying is true! That God did love me and not hate me and that He did have a great plan for my life!Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way. the truth, and the lif...Expand for more
e and the only way to the Father is through me. That night I actually got down on my knee's and asked Jesus Christ into my life to be my Lord and Savior! That was 16 years ago this past November 4th! He has set me free! I have learned that forgiveness is truly the key to life. I went back to school after 18 years of being out and got my G.E.D. and I am an ordainded minister and I am also first woman to have been on the Power Team with a group of world class male athletes speaking in schools, churches and prisons all across this Nation and the world, motivating and encouraging people of all ages that no matter what the obstacle is is life, you can reach your dreams and goals by learning from your mistakes and allowing them to become stepping stones to you future. I also hold a record in brick breaking for women and am consider on of the strongest women (all natural) in the world with a 345 lb bench press! I was on the weekly t.v. show "Roller Jam for 2 1/2 years which aired on TNN and I met my husband on a mission trip to South Africa and we actually lived one mile down the same road in Altamonte Springs, FL! Only God could have arranged that one! And last but not least as mentioned earlier my dream to be a teacher is far beyond what I thought when I think of the thousand of students that I get to speak with each week it blows my mind how GREAT GOD IS and only he can make me a teacher for one hour two to three times a day in schools all over the nation! Dream's do come true! I believe that Gos's plan for our lives is actually tucked away in our dreams! So, give him your life, trust Him. Storms will always come and go but now I know that no matter what comes I can trust that God is working it out! Jannet Abraham-Clark
