How did I become a combat fighter? It was the brake-up of the ma-bell. Working for AT&T. I was assign to work with IBM's engineers on a special project for communication. After the project was finish. IBM recommend me to the publication of Who's who In The West. A short time later I was inducted in to this publication, along with some others. Such as Who's Who In Media And Communication, Who's Who In America, and Who's Who In The World. And some other lesser known punlications.
One year later two men in black suits contacted me from the Department Of The Navy, to pick my brain. And made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I took a bettery of tests. And I was ask if I were a pilot. And I said, "no". That my only flying as apilot was from, Flight Simulator on my computer.
I scored high on aviation in those tests. But I had study for a FAA License on my own at home. But had not taken that test. I was told that there was no guarantee that I would become a pilot. But if I work hard and apply myself. I could become a really good pilot.
And here I am today a "Top Gun" pilot. It all seem like a dream come true. And I wonder. How did I get here? Was this my destiny? To be the best of the best.
