Jason's Story

Life I realized that I had not put an update in this here box for a while, so I thought I'd start over. In August of 1994, I left Idaho Falls for the adventure and agony of the U.S. Army. I was enlisted for a total of 8 years, ending my service a Sergeant (E-5) with an honorable discharge in 2002. During that time, I had met many friends that I still contact and had visited places that I never considered, while growing up in IF. Some of my highlights include: *Earning my Parachutist Badge (Airborne)!! *Being announced as "Soldier of the Year" for the 1st Corps Support Command in 1996 *Fishing for black bass in Wilmington, SC *DJing in Drifter's Country Saloon in North Carolina *2 1/2 years of pleasure and pain in South Korea *DJing for the soldiers at the Camp Walker Hilltop Club in Taegu, South Korea *Attending USO and MWR hosted concerts by artists like Papa Roach, Charlie Daniels, Skid Row, and Twisted Sister. I also got signed balls, uh baseballs *Spending 6 hours as a guess DJ for an American Forces Network (AFN) radio broadcast *Becoming a father of a great kid, with a girl that I planned to marry, until... *Having my Sergeant stripes pinned on *Teaching and leading soldiers, and hopefully they will remember my dedication to them. In September of 2002, I left Korea, as a soldier, and returned three weeks later, as a government contractor. I spent three more years over there as a Network Administrator, until government cuts caused the company to have to relocate me to Colorado Springs, where I suffered for 8 months in a job I hated. ent contracting company, and moved back to my roots in Idaho. I now work as a Central Office Technician in St. Anthony, and feel comfortable in my choice to return.
