Jason's Story
Life
Hmmm, where to begin? Well, in a nutshell, upon graduating from AH&VS, I went to the University of Windsor with the intent to act but my lack of self discipline earned me a Psych. degree. I joined the Naval Reserves while completing my degree and became an officer. After 5 years, I stopped having fun so I left to visit Australia. I stayed for 9 months and returned with travel fever. This began my love for travel and I've since visited 14 countries primarily in South Pacific, SE Asia. Since I left high school, I've been a naval officer, bartender, outdoor adventure guide, prison guard and finally an English teacher. Two and a half years ago, I started an around-the-world trip which lead me eventually to Vietnam. Here I unexpectedly met, and later married, my wife. We now have a beautiful 11-month old daughter named Tayla. I've been teaching at a military-themed boys school for 4 years. I just completed my Master's of Education and will begin my Bachelor of Ed. s College) this September. My life so far certainly has not been boring, that's for sure. Who's knows where I'm headed next. One things for sure, I want more travel!!
College
I'll always remember my first lecture, Sociology 100, when the professor said, "Welcome to my class, nice to see you all here; if you continue to come, Great! And if you don't, I don't care!". That made me realize it was all up to me. Do or die! That was the chance I needed and I excelled, each year getting better. I joined a frat and had some good times. I wish I'd played some sports for the uni, besides rugby, which nearly killed me (figuratively speaking). I enjoyed making runs over the border for cheap booze for our frat parties and road trips. I always remember Milwawkee! Anyone remember the girl who asked what we did with our dogsleds at the border?
I always wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were proabably right.
