Jason's Story

Life Originally from Riverhead, New York, with stops in Lake Mary, Florida, Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania, and Colonial Heights, Virginia. Since 1997, I've called the stagnant surroundings of Coastal Florida home--the Tampa Bay Area, to be more exact. Not being a sun-worshipper or retiree, I don't fit here anymore. My sights are set on the Pacific Northwest. My love affair for that area began with a 2002 vacation to Vancouver, British Columbia. I went once, and I was hooked. I go back there every year, and it's the only place where I really feel happy, inspired, and at peace. For those of you who have had the privilege to see it first-hand, you'll know what I'm talking about. Because of those annual trips, I'm planning to move to the area in the next year. Budget constraints mean that I can get as close as Spokane, Washington. It's still a great place, and close enough to all of those things I live for. Beyond my insatiable love affair with the Great Northwest, I spend what little free time I have either lacing up the in-line skates and racking up a few miles on a nearby bike trail, or participating in public service communications projects through my hobby of amateur radio. Single for the second time, no kids, no romances to speak of (but looking!). My job consumes a lot of my time--too much--more than average. I would be thrilled to hear from those of you I've crossed paths with over the years. School School life began for me in Riverhead New York (Phillips Ave. ES, Aquebogue ES, Pulaski St. ES), where I would remain until the sixth grade. For the next two years, I wouldn't be around long...Expand for more
enough for many people to remember me, spending only one year in Sanford, Florida (Lakeview Middle then Greenwood Lakes Middle), and another year in Mt. Pocono, PA (Pocono Mountain JHS). Eighth Grade saw a move to Colonial Heights, Virginia, to CHJHS, then CHHS, where I graduated in 1992. Nowhere had I ever felt more like a second-class citizen than I did in Colonial Heights, but I am thankful for those few friends who helped me get through it with my sanity. Regrettably, because I was so out of place, I did little in the way of extracurricular activities. After my graduation from high school, I spent a short time at Richard Bland College [of the College of William and Mary,] Virginia's only public junior college. Burned out and emotionally exhausted from years of schooling, I went into the work force. With a few additional courses under my belt through the Univ. of Phoenix, I'll get that Bachelors...someday. College There's not much for me to write about here. I spent a couple of year at Richard Bland College in Petersburg, Virginia. I didn't want to be there, so I ended up doing very little. Gave up and went to work full-time after a couple of years. Workplace I've known only two employers in my life. I started with a summer job at [Paramount's] Kings Dominion, a theme park near Richmond, Virginia. After high school, I began a career with RadioShack, first as a part-time Sales Associate, and now over 13 years later, to Senior Manager. I sacrificed a home life for my career. But for now, it pays the bills, not to mention my annual escape to Vancouver (Can you tell that I really love that city?)
