Jason's Story

The person I am now might seem inconsistent with the person I was. I've had the good fortune to travel all over the world, and the bad fortune to face serious accidents and natural disasters. Tim McGraw sings a song, Live Like You Were Dyin', I couldn't agree with his sage advice. I've faced head injury, amnesia, broken back & neck, partial paralysis, and that's just what happened to me. I've had a daughter break her neck, and our whole family see a home, our possessions, and a lifetime of memories, washed away in a single afternoon during Hurricane Katrina. I'm so fortunate to have known so many wonderful people, and I think many who might read this might likewise be surprised to find they hold a special place in my heart and memory. Each who has had his or her life extend into my life's experiences might not realize how I remember their contribution to my meager existence. Hardships create strength; happiness creates blessed memories. To all of you, I wish the best for you and yours. But in all seriousness; you've got to give that, "live like you were dyin'" thing a chance. It's a lot easier than literally nearly dying like I did, but achieves the same result. Life is a blast.
