Jim's Story
How do you tell the story of your life. I do know that at this point in my life I had expected that I would have so much more to show for myself. I believed that our generation was going to shape this world in so many ways and I guess that it has. I only believed that I would be in the middle of all the shakers and movers that this generation has produced and instead, I have watched as the world moved on without me, or so it feels as married life consumed me in so many ways, that is in the beginning I had very big dreams of what I could accomplish and now I don't know what happend to all the time I thought that I had. I was always putting things off til later. Well now it IS later and those things I was going to do never got done.
After high school I went away to college as most of us did. My pursuits of higher education took me into a radio station and instead of attending the classes that I signd up for, I was spinning records and talking about LIFE that I forgot to live. I felt like it was my 15 minutes of fame and I wasted my ambitions and time for the FUN that I felt was important at the time. That could have been a problem if other people hadn't wakend me from my slumber in time to get the education that finally too...Expand for more
k me to my profession with AT&T. I found my way there when my then wife to be said I had to get a real job before she would wed me. I had been an insurrance agent and only working when I felt like it and it was good enough for me, but not for her, thankfully. After 31 years of marriage and 3 fantastic children later, I can say that all was worth while. My health took a big hit around the turn of the century and I have had to retire from my work and I have found retirement a good thing. My wife enjoys travel and gambeling and so we spend a lot of our vacation time winging our way off to Vegas and so it almost feels like that is our second home. We now have a grandson who occupies a lot of our time these days and I would have it no other way. Being a grandpa isn't such a bad thing in fact I feel like my life is recharged by his great smile. It is like being a dad all over agin but better.
I guess this is my story, my wife is Kari Kay and our three kids are as born, Bryan James, Andrea Marie and last but far from least Kevin Michael. Our grand son, thanks to our daughter Ande and her husband Gary, is Danger Lee Morris and he is the greatest little man to get to know. Thanks for reading. Later, Jim J.
