Retired from the phone company after 37 years. Moved from Cheyenne to Phoenix, AZ in 1982 then to Seattle in 1995. If you knew me in high school then you likely knew I had one or two pinball machines in my bedroom. Well, that hobby grew into a full-fledged obsession. Back then, pinball machine collectors were spread out, few and far between, and rarely had contact with each other. We got organized starting in the mid 1980's. Now, there are pinball shows all over the country where pinheads go to play, get together, buy, sell, trade, attend seminars on pinball repair, etc., participate in tournaments, the works. I ran the tournament at the Phoenix Pinball Show 1990-1993. Along the way I have done volunteer work. Two examples that come to mind are: Partnering to organize the Jerry Lewis telethon in Cheyenne for two years, and providing exigent counseling and referral for sexual minorities in Phoenix for 16 months. Today, I am an Editor of the Internet Pinball Machine Database (w-w-w-dot-ipdb-dot-org), an online resource for collectors, hobbyists, and interested others.
