Jay's Story

Life Hello everyone, how time flies! During the three decades since high school, I completed my undergraduate education in Utah, an MBA (splitting time between CU and Texas) and relocated eight times since commencing my professional life in Denver ... four times to Dallas, TX where we have resided since 1996. I am married ... and after 16 years of marriage, we were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Whitney Francis Foster on February 19, 2007. Our first child, a dog, Weston, will turn 15 this August and remains a vital part of the family. My wife, Carrie, started her professional life in banking, but returned to school to become a Registered Nurse (Oncology) ... something I could never do, but which earns my respect on a daily basis. Major portions of my time are spent pursuing professional interests ... but I took much of 1997 off to remodel our home (probably should have taken 1998 off also, as some work remains to be finished almost 10 years later). The majority of my career has been in the equipment finance and leasing business ... but after advancing to some corporte-level assignments, I found that I missed the daily contact with customers and transactions. Solution: In late 2005 I moved to our Commercial Real Estate unit, and took a dir...Expand for more
ect sales position. Beyond the privilege of nightly feedings with my daughter, we have become re-acquianted with nature and travel a little (Big Bend annually, and over the last serval years visited Alaska, British Columbia, Qubec, and London). I serve on the board of Audubon Dallas, am an advocate of using native plants in local landscapes (having worked over the past two/three years to convert our property to a mostly-native landscape), travel to Oklahoma to do a little fly fishing ... yes there are some trout there, assist in the Scouting Program at my church (having served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for 5 years), and from time-to-time break out the instruments (I kept a marimba in my living room until I got married and my wife had a different idea of how her living room would look, and from time to time I take violin lessons). I also enjoy throwing a casual function, usually involving the cooking of a whole-hog. Future goals: I. Save for my daughter's education so I don't have to work in the corporate world until my mid-70's. II. Relocate back to "God's Country" ... also known as Colorado and the Mountain West. III. Pursue some entrepreneural intersts. Would enjoy hearing from any old friends or classmates ... and all the best to everyone!!
