Jay's Story
Life
Things are going well and cannot complain. I have great friends that support me, a family that loves me, and God to always be there no matter what screw up I do in life.
My personal time is mostly sucked up by reading and volunteer time. If anyone has seen me now, they always say I gained weight. I only gained a little weight. Aproximately double of what I was when I graduated high school. If you knew me grade school, all of you know i was a skinny kid weighing in at about 110 lbs. Big change but no big deal.
I love to be in the cold and really love skiing and snowboarding. I also mountain bike and hike. Sports has always been a part of my life and I enjoy many proessional sports like soccer, football, baseball. Go Dodgers! Sports is one of the few things I regretted not participating in grade school but oh well, my loss.
I recently came back from the Philippines and had the time of my life for two weeks. I met over 400 family members for a family reunion and cannot wait to go back every year. That is the only place i am willing to travel to for that long a period of time. I love that place. best of all, my family over there has relationship with God that is second to none. Love them all to death!
School
One thing i miss about grade school was the people of course. I think about the people i went to school with frequently and sometimes wish they were all around me still. whether friends from elementary, high school or college, all those generations played some special part in the way my life panned out today. All you gu...Expand for more
ys know who you are and don't even think I forgot anyone in my classes. I bet if you contacted me in the near future, i will have some memory of you regardless of grade.
College
Sweated out a degree from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Mechanical engineering. Rough ride in college!
Workplace
Straight out of high school, went to work a part time job at Disneyland dressing stage actresses and i guess actors (rally dont like mentioning that). Worked there for 5 years and started working as an intern in miscellaneous engineering careers that i found interesting.
I first worked as a junior engineer for a truck trailer company, that only lasted a year. Test engineer was next in line at a medical device company. that was not good. too boring, not my style, and crappy enviornment. My next job as a manufacturing engineer for a racecar parts company was going well unitl the commute and 11 hour workdays stressed me out enough for me to quit.
I finally arrived to Southern California Gas Company and enjoy every moment of it. I interned with them in college and have always wanted to come back. i work as a pipeline integrity engineer and use my degree to its fullest over there. My emphasis in college was focused on fluid mechanics/heat transfer. Geek stuff. anyway, it has been rough ride but it all payed off.
Military
Close to becoming an officer after college in the Navy but there was a problem that they felt would hold me back. Almost a nuclear sub engineer but tough tamales for me. I think it was my destiny to not be in anyway.
