Jayne's Story
Life
Some days I feel as if I've done nothing with my life since high school and other times, I look back and I've spent my time building things I've never thought I would. I started out to be a teacher . . .never got there. I worked in human sevices and with juvanile offenders for 10 years before burning out on all of that drama and then moved on. I have been working for Dick's Sporting Goods for the last 7 years most of that as a group leader. I spend time with my 16 year old niece and 12 and 7 year old nephews. Weekends find us on the 5 Star Trail or in the summer at the Park and Pool. I spend time on the internet talking family, college and camp friends, many of whom live out of state, spend time working on my photos from my photography hobby, reading, catching up on Scottish festival activities, raising my 4 legged child, scrapbooking and recovering from the Buffett concert every year! I don't do too much of anything during the week since I work 2nd shift. Sunday's during football season find me watching the Steelers or refinishing projects around my house.

o - teach. As I got into my curriculum of Early Childhood Education, I had to take a course called the Exceptional Child. This lead to a transfer to California University of PA where I majored in Special Ed. There were no wild parties but I managed to break my foot. I met some great friends whom I get to see on New Year's Eve every year. The worst part of college was the 8 AM classes that spent in a daze as I am still not the morning department. (Thank God for 2nd shift!)
Workplace
I started working at a church camp first as a cook and then as a councelor. While in college, I started working partime with abused and troubled teens. This eventually lead me to working for ARC Westmoreland where I worked with people who had mental retardation and mental health issues and Auberle again with troubled teens. Ten years down the road and tired of being a supervisor, I had enough and moved on. I explored different areas which lead to cleaning houses and hotels. Somehow I ended up at Dick's Sporting Goods on 2nd shift. I moved from part time work to full time, eventually moving up another rung. I am now working as a group lead in the processing department at Dick's Sporting Goods Distribution Center in Smithton PA. I am just approaching my 6 year anniversary with this company.
