Hello, all! My new/renewed friend, Mary Clark, urged me to get my Classmates membership renewed. I think that she has done a much better job of staying connected to old friends throughout the years, while I (sad to say) have fallen off of the face of the earth...or so it would seem. (Mary and I were buds throughout elementary school and have rekindled our friendship, following my husband's and my recent relocation to the Sierra foothills town of Placerville.) So, I guess that I have a relatively new life (with my husband of six years) and a new (old) home in the town of Placerville, which we love. I've been working as an independent grant writer for several years now, after a long career in the hospital/social services/healthcare settings followed by the non-profit sector as a fund raiser. My last full time job was in fund development with City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley - an AmeriCorps or domestic Peace Corps program - where I had the privilege to work with a really talented team and idealistic 18-24 year olds who were ¿out to change the world.¿ In my independent consulting role, I enjoy the flexibility and the good feeling of helping support health care and social services for people in need.
