Jeanette's Story
Life
Graduated from Orlando Jr College in June, 1957 & married Jim Blackburn in September of that year. We lived in Jacksonville while he was in the Navy and then moved to Clermont. With three sons in tow moved to Eau Gallie (now Melbourne) and then to the West Palm Beach area. During our 20+ years there, Jim worked with a couple plumbing companies and in Mexico for 1 1/2 years. 19 years...for part of that time was administrator of the school there and served on the church staff. We returned to South Lake County in 1991. I was employed by the school board and along with principal and others at Tavares Elem began the first after school program in the county. Next I became director of the WEE Center at 1st Baptist, Clermont until I retired a few years ago. I enjoy reading, gardening, camping in our RV and being a grandmother.
