Jeanie's Story
Life has a way of surprising you. I have been living in Northern Virginia since January 1990. I love being back in the Nations Capital. I was born here.
I met a wonderful man soon after I moved here and we were married May 4, 1991. We had our good times and bad but after 12 years of marriage we divorced. The miracle in the marriage came on June 27, 2002 when our son Levi Michael was born. We were in the middle of the divorce and I knew in my heart what was best for him and placed him for adoption through LDS Family Services. It is hard to believe that he is 6 1/2. I am happy and life keeps getting better all the time.
Work
When I first moved to the DC area, I got a job with the USDA as a secretary with the Farm Service Agency (FSA). I was with FSA for 7 ½ years. I then went to work for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). I was with APHIS for almost 9 years, first as a Correspondence and Communications Assistant and then as a Correspondence Review Assistant. I worked for Sonneville International Corporation.(S.I.C.) as their office manager. I was with S.I.C. from November 14, 2006 to May 21, 2008. Currently I am temping while looking for another job.
