Since 2004 I have been working on a historical novel about Butte, MT -- writing began in 2009. It has been an adventure to research, create, learn writing craft and manage a novel that spans a century. My writing coach characterized it as a very big first project well worth the time, but one that would take a considerable investment of time. I like the idea of a project that spans years -- ties together my life and becomes my meaning.".
