Jeanne's Story

Life My Spouse I had moved back into my home parish-St Rose of Lima, Brooklyn. I met my intended when he passed out at a parish blood drive. I was told to go take care of him. My Kids Deaglan-the Oldest boy. Graduated Stevens Inst. of Tech. as a physicist and is at George Washington Univ. in DC finishing his master in International Science and Space Technology Policy and hopes to go into politics or teach as. He graduates in May 2008 with his MS. A real academic and thespian to boot. He was involved with the Steven's Dramatic Society, was in student government, & was in several fraternities-one is strickly a service fraternity and another is for phsicists. In his spare time he played for the Seton Hall Pep band - He's picked up the nickname of The Dancing Tuba - He's even been caught by ESPN a few times. He's been a freshman orientation leader and was a congressional intern during the Summer of 2005. He spent his last Spring Break in College working for Habitat for Humanity down in Louisiana, just west of New Orleans, in the bayou helping rebuild and repair homes damaged by last falls hurricane. His current internship in DC while working on the master's has been with NOAA. Moira-only daughter. A Senior at Kane Univ., moved back home after trying dorm life for a year and finding it not conducive to learning. Started out as a sociology major she switched into criminal justice. Her eventual goal is to work for the FBI perhaps helping find missing kids and perhaps become a child advocate lawyer if she can get her grades up. She loves little kids. She also works full time as a 911 police, fire and emergency response dispatcbesides going to college full time so she is one busy, hardworking, little lady. Liam-the youngest boy. He is a Frosh in Coll. and a music educ. major. Has ADHD and is visually impaired however ...Expand for more
is mainstreamed. He is very bright and wants to outdo his brother in many ways. He started out at Seton Hall Univ but left after 3 weeks.(It wasn't a good fit for music for him). He is now attending the local community college 'til he is more sure of his academic focus. My Job I'm a Lietenant Colonel in the ARMY Reserves. *(Finally Retired on 9/24/03-my birthday) I've been on active duty numorous times and I love the job I did-which is regulating blood, helping set blood policy, & training all the armed services on blood and its issues. (Since retirement, I go back as a consultant). I have also been added to the admissions committee to West Point and conduct interviews for potential Army ROTC candidates and WP applicants. I had bilateral total knee replacements done as a result of an initial injury when on active duty. While it took a while to get back on my feet, I am teaching full-time again at an all boys HS in Chemistry & Comp. Sci. Finally, my husband,Kevin, for better or worse, and I will be married 27 years this coming July. There have been some rough years, especially when I was deployed, but as a family we have managed to hold together, through thick and thin! I spoke at my church's adult women's group in Feb 06- and talked about how the Lord has raised me up (as the song-title goes) through the various trials in my life and sustained me with His love and presence. So as you can see, life hasn't been too dull. Teaching and the kids I meet through West Point keep me young and although I have my aches and pains I don't let much slow me down. At school I moderated our Model UN club and I am in charge of the ScienceNHS in our school, the Science Club and the Science academic teams. These kids keep me on my toes to say the least. They are all very bright. Hopeing to hear from you in the new year. Much love, Jeanne
