Jeanne's Story
My senoir year of high school would be one thing I would like to do over. Thinking back on it, I'm so embarrassed of myself. I kept busy by going half day to high school, night school at college (psychology and art apprecieation), adult school (I flunked 1st semester of chemistry), and partied too much. I was so busy trying to be someone that I wasn't instead of just focusing on my studies. That would be my biggest do over if I had the chance....to forget about the partying and the boys. I kept it up all the way until I was 21, when I had my 1st son. He was just what I needed to straighten up and quit hanging out with losers.
Since then I've just been working, mostly retail, which totally sucks. I would like to go back to school. I'm always feeling like I'm way too smart for my job and that I can do better. However, with my benefits and pay now it's really hard to quit and start over.
I'm now married to a wonderful man and we have a blended family. I have one previous son, 16, two stepchildren, 12 and 15, and we have our little smarty pants, 7, together. He is a total silly nerd...which is good, hopefully the next Bill Gates! :)
With a big family and the differant age groups I keep really busy with them. I...Expand for more
f it isn't one issue with one of them then it's something else with another. They all live with us, so dealing with the "other" parents is really difficult since they're losers that think that being a parent only consists of taking them on their court ordered times, forget actually spending the time with them, or providing for them financially and emotionally. So...we have to do it for them.
We just bought our first house. We bought it just before the market began to fall so we have an outrageous mortgage. Most of our time is spent working and puttering around the house. It's been really difficult with the mortgage crunch and economy now. Hours and environments at our jobs have changed with the slumping economy, it's really hard to keep up. We enjoy our new home though. Going from renting to owning really is a big difference.
We used to travel to the coastal regions often, however with gas prices, we stay pretty local. We're spending more time camping and fishing instead of going to the beaches. My heart still belongs at the beach though. That is where we plan to retire after all the kids are off on their own. Probably near Pacific Grove or Carmel.
That's my life in a nutshell. Thanks for the interest. :)
