Jeannette's Story

Life I am a native of Ft. Collins, Co. Went to Ft. Collins High School, as did my dad and grandmother who went to Lincoln when it was the high school. I was the editor of the Spilled Ink Newspaper. I love that the old FCHS has been saved; it is a beautiful landmark. I went to the 45th class reunion and had a wonderful time....a great place to reconnect with old friends and memories. The photo is ok my sis, myself and classmate Judy Burton Furnish in DC in 2015! My elementary years were at St. Joseph's Catholic School, and one year at Lesher Jr. High.My mother passed away on November 15, 2011 at the age of 93 . My dad passed away July 13, 2009 at age 86. My brother, Bobby, who graduated from FCHS in 1966, passed away on June 6, 2005 in Ft Collins. My sisters Mary Jo and Annelle both remain in Colorado. ylor my junior year. His roomate, Chuck Peterson, FCHS 1966, introduced us. We were married for 25 years and have 2 children. We started out as teachers in Granby, Co. and then Jim went into the insurance business. Spent 10 years in Denver, and transferred to Orlando Florida. Jim died in October, 2022. I am retired from teaching. My children are a daughter, and son.I am a grandmother, and helping raise Erik Quinn, born in Oct. 2005. One more year before he heads off to college with a basketball scholarship. In November 2006, my son Andrew and his wife Betty of Austin, Texas became the parents of twins...a son Cole and daughter Reese. Hard to believe they are driving and both are active in high school activities. Schools Attended: Graduated from FCHS in 1968, UNC, (Greeley) in 1972--Elementary Education. Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida State University 1994.
