Jeff's Story

Hi Ok, try to sum up your adult life in a few paragraphs. Ok, hmmm. I've done many things and gone to many places. After flunking out of UW Parkside after graduation. (What? I have to actually attend classes to pass?) Got married to my high school sweetheart and divorced 2 years later. I was pretty immature. Got a 2 year degree from Gateway Tech / Kenosha. I joined the Navy after getting laid off as a Jr. Accountant in the early 80s. Decided to join the Navy and see the world. I should have stopped watching McHales Navy when I was a kid. Became a Russian Linguist with a security clearance and lived in Spain for 3 1/2 years while catching submarine rides in the Mediterranean Sea. I love Europe. Came home and worked in various fields within IT. Got remarried and had a couple great boys who have become really good young men. Was smart enough to go back to school (Milwaukee School of Engineering). It took me 7 years of night school, but I graduated in 1999 with a B.S. in Computer Management (Networks). Currently work for Fiserv, Inc. in Brookfield, WI as a Network Service Team Lead. Was promoted to Manager, so that brings it own challenges. I love to cook and work part time for a mission outreach at Elmbrook Church (Feed My Sheep) on the weekends. I've traveled to support Mercy Chefs at various times in the past during emergencies. . I like to travel and I am getting more seriously into photography. Still have much to learn. God has blessed me all my life. While I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, the journey is so special I just want to savor the ride. Update 03/22/24 I just got back again from Medellin, Colombia. This place is very special to me. I prayed for people and spoke to them about Jesus. I healed about 40 people this time. Driving in this city is not for the faint of heart. I also visited Medellin six weeks ago where we spoke to churches and performed many healings. I hope to go down there as often as possible. I am considering moving to Medellin. This was laid on my heart earlier this year. I am taking it slow to make sure this is His will and not mine. God bless you all Update 01/25/23 Just got back from Medellin, Colombia. This was a missions trip to bring the Good News of the Gospel to some of the people served by ministries in the city. ...Expand for more
This was my 2nd time in Medellin. It is a beautiful city with many challenges as with many other big cities around the world. I love the people there. We prayed for and healed a lot of people through the power of Jesus. I just received word tonight that a terminal cancer patient was healed from her disease after getting tests today. Jesus is the light. He is the real deal. God bless you all. Update 11/22/22. I did not go to Kenya. There was a better need for the money I set aside. The Holy Spirit spoke and I heard. Good news is I am going back to Colombia in January. God's timing is always perfect. I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. Look at those around you. Sometimes we all need a hug, a good word, a God wink in our lives. God bless. Update 6/12/22. Going to Kenya October 1st, depending on national elections on August 9th. I pray I am a blessing to those I meet. Update 5/12/22 Trip to Honduras was a blessing. I was able to help out making meals from 20-30 people 3 times a day. Honduras is a beautiful country whose beauty is only surpassed by the people you meet. It is a very poor country, God is active there. Next opportunity might be spending a couple weeks in Kenya working with a missionary couple in October. Hopefully I will be selected. Somewhere down the road I have to think of retirement from Fiserv. It is a can I'm kicking down the road. I still like what I'm doing and I do like to make money. I hope you are all doing well. Update 2/12/22. Well, Covid shut down Feed My Sheep a 1 1/2 ago. So all of a sudden my weekends were free? Any how, I had a calling to work in an inner Milwaukee ministry to distribute food on Saturdays for the Morning Glory ministry. Funny how the Holy Spirit works, I used to prepare breakfast for them when I was working for Feed My Sheep, now I am in the trenches. This is such a blessing. I've met a lot of great people and some sad stories. I am where I'm supposed to be. I've been taking some online Spanish classes so I can converse with the people. Yo aprendo Espanol muy lentamente hasta aqui (but it is fun). Going to Honduras next month to work on a project. Looking forward to retirement within the year. Who knows what God has planned for me. All I can say is I'm blessed and serve an amazing God.
