In 1974, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving as a Journalist assigned to US Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. I worked in Public Affairs and on the newspaper staff. At this same time I served in the US Army Reserve and then the Army National Guard (ARNG). ...Expand for more
I was selected for Officer Candidate School, commissioned a Second Lieutenant, and branch qualified as a Signal Officer in 1981. I continued teaching at Dighton until May of 1985, when I was accepted for active duty with the US ARNG. I served on assignments with the Regular Army and ARNG until I retired from active duty in 2001. I was then employed as a telecommunications technician, and then as a military and requirements analyst supporting US Army and US Department of Agriculture contracts. I retired from consulting work in October 2016.
