Jeff's Story

Well, I guess that I took the 'Road Less Traveled' in life. I went into the Army 6 days after we graduated -people told me that I was nutz - still not sure about that one. Like Jimmy Buffet sang - Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I've had a good life just the same. I have served my entire career within the Army Intelligence branch. Never punched a single ticket in my 34 year military career - NONE. I always took the fun/exciting, been there/done that jobs and pretty much flew by the seat of my pants. First, they told me that I'd never make Major, then Lieutenant Colonel. Well, here I am. I took a break in service after leaving Cambodia in 93 - that's when I lost my father to cancer. retty well. After 9/11, I spent a week at Ground Zero in NYC as a volunteer, then went back into the Army full-time. I worked military counterdrug jobs for the DEA and FBI in downtown LA, then switched over to US Border Patrol in Miami. When Congress shut our program down in 2003, I headed to Key West to work counterdrug ops. I got sent to Paraguay to work for DEA out of the Embassy and there I met my wife - and the rest, as they say, is history... We're in Atlanta now and love it. My daughter Francesca is 6 and my son Joey is 5. My wife gave me twin girls for my 49th birthday present. Their names are Brianna Annabella and Alanna Gabriella. There is not a day that goes by when I do not feel like the luckiest guy in the world. And there's absolutely nothing in this world that I want and don't have - that's a pretty good feeling. When I left our village in Cambodia years ago, this Buddhist monk gave me this (through my interpreter) - "I wish for you a lifetime with no regrets". That pretty much sums it up.
