Jeff's Story

Moved away from North Bend as soon as I could drive and moved to Eugene, OR. That was until 1990, when I decided to move to Portlamd, OR with Fred Schmidt, who was one of my best friends at the time and we made sure that we survived and I've lived in the West Hills of Portland since 1990. Never married and probably won't ever get married, because yes, I am gay...and for all those guys who were threatened by that or thought that when I would look at you, that I was wanting you, couldn't be further from the truth. I would thank the powers that be, that I wasn't with someone like those of you that were like that and boy, what egos most of you had. Personally, I would rather be with someone who was also gay, because I think it makes things much easier and trust me, I knew who wasn't, who was, & who would swing occasionally back and forth. A few of you were nice to me, especially later on after high school, and there were those of you that eventually got to know me as best friends & found out that I was a pretty wonderful and one hell of a nice guy and could be a great friend. Oh yeah, since I'm writing this, no.....I'm not dead. I'm still alive, despite the rumours and boy, there were plenty of them about me and yeah, one more that I'll say isn't all truthful...I don't worship Satan and sacrafice kitten, whoever started that one should be made to go back and take the entire 4 years of high school over again. I've been proud of my friends, who've made sure they lived life and tried to be as happy as they could, unfortunately I've had many, many friends recently just pass away and it was way to early, at least for me...those I'd like to remember are as follows - Steffe Way, Johanna Haverstock, David Dane, Joel Cully, & someone who I miss from a long time ago, Danny Miles, Jr......plus, there's been quite a few more and most of them have died way before their time, but unfortunately I can't just put name after name...Expand for more
on here or it would be really boring for everyone else. I am currently 40 years old, health is good, prefer to play video games or work on a house remodelling project or work on my car (although I just sold it, due to the high cost of gas, etc., but I used to love to work on it). When I was younger I used to really won't to end up with someone, but I've learned that personally, I don't really like most gay men (especially the ones that act real effeminate, because if I'm attracted to men, why would I want to be with someone who acts more female, than male, huh??) and I'm just different. I prefer to hang out with my straight friends & I'm a huge thrill-seeker. At an amusement park, you'll see me going straight towards the biggest and scariest roller coasters and I would still love to bungee jump or parachute out of an airplane or whatever pumps the adrenaline (life is short, I've learned, and one must always be up for new things), plus, I hate being serious all the time, sometimes I just like being goofy or making people wonder what's wrong with me, just for fun, so if any of my old classmates would be up for playing paintball, racing race cars (even go-carts can be a whole lot of fun), or anything else, I would be up for it.......as friends, because that's what I've been missing lately, with everyone passing away at such young ages. Ciao', Jeff PS I think the thrill-seeker started to germinate in me, when during high school (I'm sure most of you will remember this), for the talent show, Ellen Macsay and I were getting ready at her house and we were going lipsync Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton's song "Islands In The Stream" and out of the blue, Ellen's Dad says, what would be funny is if you guys change parts, so we did, we won first place, & the excitement of just winging something and seeing what happens, even if everyone sees up your skirt and sees your basket, so what, have a ball or two, and a laugh.....
