Jeff's Story

Life After moving from South Jordan to Holiday my Senior year of high school, I ended up finishing that year and graduating from a small private school. I ended up working right out of high school doing car audio/video installations, and basically did the same thing for several years. I had a good time, got to work with good people (including a great friend from high school whom I don't see much anymore), and learned valuable skills. I also tried my hand at business ownership early on, and found I was not quite ready for that adventure. While still working in the car A/V world, I was offered a job at a business that did home A/V installations. I also really enjoyed this, and got to work in some very nice homes! Along the way I discovered my work passion, and the rest you might say is history. I have now been a PLC programmer now for almost 12 years, and while I've worked for various companies, I'm currently at my favorite. I work exclusively with commercial A/V systems, and as the company I work for does a great deal of federal jobs, I get to travel a lot and see a bunch of really cool buildings. Also, last summer the sale of a small business presented itself to me and a friend, and we decided to buy in and take it over. So now I sort of have two jobs, but one is purely for fun while the other pays the bills! On the personal front, I've been married twice. The first one only lasted three years, and while I regret many ...Expand for more
things about that relationship, I feel like I learned a lot from it. My current wife of four years is the love of my life. She is 12 years younger than I, so it's really interesting sometimes. Keep in mind she's arguably the mature one, so it actually works out great. We don't have any children, but I'm sure her clock is ticking, and the alarm will go off anytime now! I purchased a home in the Cottonwood Heights area in '98, and have been there ever since. My wife and I have talked about buying and retiring on a large boat, so we'll probably just pay this sucker off and rent it out once we decide to leave the work force. I enjoy many of the hobbies and activities I always have even back in HS. I still play golf, although not as much as I used to. I still ride motorcross and desert, although it's at a much slower and more responsible pace (I had to include that disclaimer for my wife... ;) And I still prefer to ride my motorcycle to work (or anywhere for that matter) and I don't see that changing anytime soon. The only really new hobby I have is boating, and I love every minute of it. I really like deep vee hull go-fast boats, but I love to ski and wakeboard, so I had to compromise a bit. I think my compromise has been a good one so far and I look forward to the weekends when we can get away! Anyway, that's about it for now. I plan on and look forward to contacting a few people I haven't spoken to forever, so for now bye!
