Jeff's Story
Life
After 6 years in the Corps, I am currentyly a SSgt (E-6) in the Marine Corps and have enjoyed my job so much to date. I was recently promoted (Nov 1, 2002) from Sgt. I have about 500 hours flight time in a CH-46E helicopter as an Aircrewman at this time and spent the first 4 years of my career maintaining this old yet reliable airframe. I flew many training missions over every continent on he globe. It was great. It is really interesting to visit with other people from other countries. I am now a mechanic on other type of equipment. Mostly hydraulic, diesel, and gasoline engines. I have three girls ages 4-3-1 and am still married to the mother of my children. She is in the Navy. After High School, I goofed off and had fun in college. Then I worked cotton gins and grain until i grew tired of working all the time with nothing to show for it. So I joined the Marines and have done really well. I am still running but have slowed a little.(3 kids will do that to ya.lol) I am running for the regional Marine track team. My most recent accomplishment is running the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Diego. My time was 3 hours 9 Minutes. ntry.lol As it turned out, I was sent to the Middle East and not able to run the Boston Marathon. Those countries over there are very dirty and the people are rude. But, the Kuwaiti's like for us to come fight the Iraqi's. The war was brutal for both sides and there were many losses. This was a new experience for me. But, I was glad to be a part of it. The Iraqi's were very happy we were there for the most part. Of course, there are those that want us out and attack us. But the people feel liberated. I am home now with my family until we go to some other part of the globe. Anyway, I have seen many, many countries and enjoyed life to date. Hope to hear from ya soon. Lata
College
While I only attended for one year, I learned more in college about life and myself than I had ever learned before or after. I had many ups and downs. I spent the first semester with my high school sweet heart. The second I spent with the many friends that stood by me after the break up. My best friend at the time was Sylvia Ramirez. She was and is a great person. I miss her a lot but we keep in touch via email every now and then. My high school sweet heart is married and doing well the last time we talked. College went by fast.
