Jeff's Story
Life
After HS I enlisted in the US Navy. After the Navy I went to college for a couple of years then dropped out and went to work for the Pacific Bell (then known as
Pacific Telephone). I worked at the phone company for ten years. I moved up to the SF Bay Area in 1986 and in 1987 started my own computer store. That store merged with a larger company in 1989. From 1989 to 2001 I held a variety of positions until 1998 when I was made President of the company. In 2001 the owner of the company decided to close the stores. I knocked around for a couple years until deciding to open my own computer store again in San Rafael.
I have been married for 21 years to the love of my life and have two kids a daughter who is 21 and a son who is 19. We have a great life, with a nice home, great kids, dog, the usual stuff. I would not trade anything for all the money in the world.
School
Went to Vintage Street Elementary School from K-6 with pretty much the same group of kids nothing really stands out in my mind, was a pretty vanilla school nothing really exciting every happened. I lived on the border between Porter Jr. High and Sepulveda Jr High, most if not all my friends from Elementary School went t...Expand for more
o Porter Jr. High and just a few neighborhood kids went to Sepulveda Jr. High. I pretty much never saw any of the kids I went to Elementary School again (David Larsen, Kathy Kennedy, Janice, etc). I remember Jr. High as being pretty touch trying to fit in not knowing many of the kids, though by the 9th grade a made friends that would last me through high school and beyond (Mike Jefferson, Paul Wacker, Geoff Wilcox, and several others). Went to Monroe were I was an average student that just blended in, never really stood out, hung out with Paul Wacker, Geoff Wilcox and Russ Jones most of the time.
After the Navy went to Valley College for a couple of years trying to figure out what I wanted to do, did not really have much in the way of goals, just trying to find something that was the right fit for me. My major at Valley College was Electronics, though I was never really very serious about it, took mostly basic classes like math, english, history, etc.
Military
Went to San Diego for boot camp, Memphis for "A" School, back to San Diego stationed at NAS Miramar VF 154, made one Westpac cruise on the USS Ranger in 1976, had a blast while overseas. My time in the Navy was pretty uneventful.
