Life
Hi - I'm Jeff Brooks. I was the dork from Sedan...
Just an update for those who care: I graduated in 1977 and entered the United States Air Force in 1978. I really wanted to travel, so the Air Force sent me to Duluth MN for my first 4 years. After Duluth, I enjoyed 5 years in Florida (Where I met my FIRST wife, with whom I produced TWO daughters, Meghan (now age 23) and Kristin (now age 21)). After Florida, I endured a year at "The Rock" or otherwise known as Shemya AFB, AK (1500 miles off the coast of Alaska and 450 miles from the Kamchatka penninsula of Russia).
After Shemya I went to Plattsburgh NY. From there I went to Tyler, Texas as an Air Force Recruiter -- imagine me in sales -- nope, didn't work out. I went back to the real Air Force at Andrews AFB, where I was with the USAF Security Police. I left Andrews in 1994 and spent my last 8+ years in Wichita Falls, Texas, where I met my lovely bride and now live on a 20 acre spread we call "Rancho Costa Plenty". bass (personal record 10 pounds), crappie, bluegill, and catfish. We have three horses, two Great Danes and some cats that are more "part owners" than pets.
I retired from the Air Force in 2002, where I was the Personnel Systems Manager and Deputy Director for Exercise Evaluations for two Air Force Wings (more than 12,000 personnel). I've been a cop, information manager, human resource (personnel) manager, IS manager, and First Sergeant.
I was the Information Security Officer for a regional hospital system from 2003 to 2007, thenI left the hospital in 2007, and worked as an information security consultant. I was also an adjunct professor for the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth MN. (No, I didn't move to Duluth, I taught a Master's degree course in Health Care Information Security on line.
I currently work on the Inspector General staff at Sheppard AFB.
I have 3 Associates degrees, a Bachelor's degree, and an MBA.
Imagine that -- I was the guy voted most likely to own the local bar in Sedan...
New update--I retired from USAF Civil Service in 2020 and now get to play more golf!
