Jeffrey's Story
Life
After high school, I went to West Chester State, where I earned a B.S. in Chemistry (1977). I then moved to the west coast for graduate school at the University of California in Riverside, where I earned a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry (1981). I met California native Nancy Jankov during graduate school and we were married in 1981 before for moving to St. Louis to start our life together. In St. Louis, I was an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington University from 1981-84, then moved to Michigan to join the faculty of Wayne State University School of Medicine (in the center of Detroit) in 1984, where I was Professor of Internal Medicine, Radiology and Oncology until summer 2002. While in Michigan, we had three children: Eric born in 1986; Andy born in 1988; Darcy born in 1990. In 2002, I left Wayne State to be Director of MRI for World Wide Clinical Technology at Pfizer Global Research and Development (Ann...Expand for more
Arbor, MIchigan) until Fall 2004. In October 2004, our family moved to Thousand Oaks, California, where I was Executive Director of Imaging Sciences at Amgen in until November 2008. I moved to the Philadelphia area in November 2008 to become Vice President of Imaging at Merck in West Point, PA, and Nancy joined me in July 2010, when we moved into our current house in Wayne, PA. The kids are all still in California, working to find a way to spend their lives there. In April 2015, I took on additional responsibilities at Merck as Vice President of Translational Biomarkers.
Nancy and I really enjoy living in the Philadelphia area, especially the great access to live music of all kinds and the natural beauty of the area (especially as it is showcased at Longwood Gardens). We like to travel, often to California to visit the kids and Nancy's family and to metropolitan areas around the world (Paris is our favorite).
